Client: Santa Clara University

AGENCY: SEVEN INTERNATIONAL

BRIEF:

Develop a high quality digital storytelling engine to amplify SCU’s standing as an internationally recognized leader in STEM and ethics-based liberal arts education by creating content that makes students stop and say to themselves, “Wow… I want to be a part of that.”

The two initial projects were a podcast and video series that would work as a cohesive thread as well as standalone content. Using established SCU brand identity and communication guidelines, the ‘Invent the Life You Want to Lead’ print campaign was used as a springboard to develop the LIFE INVENTED podcast and create two videos suitable for all online social and marketing distribution channels.

INVENT THE LIFE YOU WANT TO LEAD

Santa Clara University and A Circle asked that I develop and produce multimedia content for social media, direct email campaigns.

The original two projects were a podcast and video series that would be used in support of each other as well as independently.

Using the established brand identity and admissions communication guidelines and ‘Invent the Life You Want to Lead’ as a spring board, I developed the LIFE INVENTED podcast and created two videos suitable for all online social and marketing distribution channels.

LIFE INVENTED PODCAST

To invent the life you want to lead, you need the right laboratory, equipment and a dash of curiosity.

From that first critical decision to the first celebration of success, students from across the globe have found this at Santa Clara University—a nurturing and intellectually stimulating place in the heart of Silicon Valley. In our Life Invented podcast series, we chat with students, faculty and staff who are discovering what it means to be a global citizen, innovator and influencer. Follow us as we journey towards a life of limitless potential. This is…Life Invented.

LIFE INVENTED PODCAST AUDIOGRAMS

LIFE INVENTED AUDIOGRAMS

Santa Clara University and A Circle asked that I adapt the podcast audio to a visual storytelling model for visual distribution channels, social media, direct email campaigns, and live presentations at visitor events and open houses.

This allowed the podcast episodes to expand its audience and for the Admissions staff to utilize the audio assets in their visual presentations for prospective students.

STEVE NASH + SCU ATHLETICS

As part of the Life Invented podcast and video series for the Undergraduate Admission Office, Steve Nash ’96, reflects upon his time at SCU. As an NCAA Division 1 school, Santa Clara University gave Nash the opportunity to leave his home in Canada and launch his collegiate basketball career – and to introduce him to one of his favorite places in the world, the Bay Area. Today, he hopes to one day share his college experience with his children because, in his words, “only people who have been to Santa Clara can really understand what it means to go to Santa Clara.”

LEAD SCHOLARS PROGRAM

“As part of the LEAD program, students connect with a group of scholars who truly understand the unique challenges faced by those who are the first members of their families to attend college. “

The LEAD Scholars Program commissioned a podcast with an audiogram video to be used on the LEAD landing page, the Learn More About LEAD page as well as be a part of the Life Invented Podcast feed.  The video and podcast were also important inclusions into the email invitations to be a part of the program so that students could get an instant understanding of what the program is all about.
